To this question, my grandfather would always reply: "Main apne ladke nahin bechta"
Whenever I see or hear about the negotiations during any marriage, it always reminds me of my grandfather. For him, his daughter-in-laws were no less than his own daughters. All his daughter-in-laws have always been proud of a father-in-law no less than a father. I salute him for being an ideal father-in-law and inculcating those principles within all of us that makes the environment within my family human-friendly.
This blog is intended to make people aware of those blots associated with that much worshipped 'System of Marriage' in the Indian society that still make our sisters, daughters and our female friends feel themselves as a burden on their parents and families. We would have got independence on the 15th of August 1947, and would be beating our chest on our progress into the 21st century, but the women in this country are yet to smell that air of independence. This blog will be a collection of short stories based upon the said-unsaid cases of Domestic Violence on women in Indian houses, and wherever possible, the laws in the Indian Judicial System for such cases will also be mentioned. Hope this will help in spreading awareness about Domestic Violence.
Please feel free to share any incidents you are aware of, so that I can make an story out of it and share it with everyone.. Follow this blog for regular updates!
Thanks,
Saurabh
